Lionsgate Taps John Rogers as Showrunner for 'The Kingkiller Chronicle' TV Series
The Librarian's creator John Rogers will pen the pilot and executive produce for Lionsgate TV's upcoming fantasy adaptation of The Kingkiller Chronicles. The intended franchise has Lin—Manuel Miranda attached as creative producer and musical mastermind.
Lionsgate is working on putting the franchise to film and TV in a multi-platform plan around the trilogy that is written by Pat Rothfuss. The film's will adapt the trilogy while the television series will establish a world outside of the books.
“With the addition of the incredibly talented John Rogers as showrunner, we have now assembled the perfect creative team to develop a premium quality scripted series to launch our Kingkiller Chronicle franchise,” said Lionsgate Television Group Chairman Kevin Beggs.
