Lionsgate's 'Robin Hood' Gets a 2018 Release Date
Lionsgate has slotted its rendition of the Robin Hood tale into the March 23, 2018 release slot. The film stars Taron Egerton in an origin story, in which Jamie Foxx plays Little John while Eve Hewson plays Maid Marian.
Jamie Dornan of Fifty Shades of Gray fame will play Will Scarlett, who is the half brother of Robin Hood. Otto Bathurst is directing from a script by Joby Harold. Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way is producing alongside Safehouse Pictures and Thunder Road Pictures.
The film will twist the mythology and have Robin Hood as a war-weary crusader joining with a Moorish commander in a revolt against the corrupt English crown.
