Live Owls Will No Longer be Used in 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' Following this Incident
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has removed live owls from its show, following an incident during a recent show.
The report states that, despite Harry Potter's owl Hedwig perishing in the seventh novel, that particular owl was being played by live trained barn owls before, recently, the owl did not return to its trainer and instead took off into the auditorium.
The producers have since released a statement, stating that "earlier this week the decision was make not to feature live owls in any aspect of the production moving forward." The owls are perfectly fine, according to the producers, and are being "expertly cared for" by trainers and vets.
