'Logan' Director James Mangold Signs on for Fox Adaptation 'The Force'

HaydnSpurrell Riding the wave of Logan after its impressive launch critically and commercially, James Mangold is in talks to develop and direct The Force for 20th Century Fox. The project will adapt the upcoming novel by Don Winslow focused on NYPD corruption. The book will be released on June 20.

Winslow's previous novels have focused on Mexican drug cartels, in both The Power of the Dog and The Cartel (that one has Ridley Scott in the box seat to direct). Winslow spent years doing research for the upcoming book, returning to the streets as a private investigator to learn more about NYPD culture and interview high-level police officials.
