Look who's back in David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's 'Halloween'
The original scream queen will reprise her iconic role as Laurie Strode in Blumhouse Productions Halloween.
Curtis made the official announcement on Twitter: “Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween. Release date 10/19/18”
We last saw Laurie in what was thought to be her final appearance and (spoiler alert) apparent death after being stabbed through the back by her next of kin, Michael Myers in 2002's Halloween: Resurrection. Of course, many including myself felt that was a shitty sequence to close out our scream queen's beloved character. But hey, never say never in this genre!
This latest iteration of "Halloween" will be directed by David Gordon Green and co-written by Danny McBride. In February McBride revealed the new film isn’t going to be a remake but rather a continuation of Halloween and Halloween II, “We’re focusing mainly on the first two movies and what that sets up and then where the story can go from there,” said McBride, adding that “it’s gonna continue the story of Michael Myers in a really grounded way.”
Halloween will be produced by Trancas International Films, Blumhouse Productions, and Miramax and is slated for release Oct. 18, 2018, right in time for next year's Halloween festivities!
