Mads Mikkelsen Comments on 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Reshoots
Much has been made of the recent announcement of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's reshoots, particularly given that The Force Awakens blew all expectations out of the water last December, and Mads Mikkelsen has now added his voice to the conversation.
Reportedly playing the father of Rogue One protagonist Jyn Erson (Felicity Jones), Mikkelsen clarifies that director Gareth Edwards is simply polishing up the film.
“Basically, all the big films I have done always have reshoots, it is part of their budget. They’re either not super happy with a scene bit, the way we were acting, or maybe there’s something they want to add. It’s not a new thing, it happens with every film.
"Whether it’s bigger or less, I have no idea, I have nothing to compare with. It’s the same film, it’s just adding little bits here and there to do the final polishing. That’s my feeling.”
On his own involvement in the reshoot, he explained that "I have one day. I can't remember when, in two weeks I think."
The actor is growing in popularity since Hannibal, and will star in Doctor Strange later this year. Rogue One is out December 16, when all concerns can go out the window and fans can simply head to the theater to see what Edwards and co. have created.
