Mads Mikkelsen reveals his role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Mads Mikkelsen narrows two mystery roles for the latter part of this year down to one. While his Doctor Strange role is still unclear, we now know who he's playing in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The Hannibal star will play the father of Jyn Erso, the film's leading lady played by Felicity Jones. We don't know any more than this really, whether he's a good guy or a villain, or what role he'll have to play in his daughter's life.
Star Wars has a history of morally ambiguous behaviour on the parts of parents, and Mikkelsen has a history of antagonistic roles, so it wouldn't come as a surprise if he turns to some kind of dark side in one way or another.
“Felicity Jones is playing this lovely young strong woman. I play her father, and…that’s too much, I’m sorry," Mikkelsen said on-air with Sky News. Whether it's a genuine slip of the tongue is anyone's guess, because it's a pretty big reveal to drop.
