Whenever Eastern Europeans star on American television, you can count on bad accents and a couple of other tired cliches. Or in the case of the last season of Dexter, the leader flown in from the Ukrainian crime syndicate was actually the British actor Ray Stevenson. But then came The Americans, a brilliantly written show about two KGB agents in Washington D.C. during the cold war, who pretend to be an American couple. Played by two actors who quickly make you stop questioning their Russian heritage.
