The life of J.D. Salinger

This documentary detailing the intriguing life of the infamously reclusive JD Salinger, looks set to be a thrilling unraveling of the mysteriously enigmatic 21st century author.

Most who know his name, will likely do so because of his magnum opus on adolescent alienation, ‘Catcher in the Rye’. The subsequent notoriety that followed, when Mark Chapman cited the books protagonist ‘Holden Caulfield’ as the inspiration for him assassinating John Lennon in 1980, meant the book and author where destined for unwanted infamy.

But, from the friendship with Earnest Hemingway to the frontline fighting on the beaches of Normandy and liberator of concentration camps, it is clear the mind that spawned Holden Caulfield is more enigmatically necromantic than anyone could have known.
