Margot Robbie on Harley Quinn's Relationship with the Joker in 'Suicide Squad'
It's a month until Suicide Squad hits theaters, and anticipation is at a high. With Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, fans are dying to see how the character makes the transition to the big-screen, and more importantly how her relationship will turn out with the Joker.
Speaking with Vanity Fair, Robbie gave a few more hints at the character, who was never meant for more than a guest role in Batman: The Animated Series, and has since blown up into the comic book and (soon) mainstream spotlight.
“She loves causing mayhem and destruction. She’s incredibly devoted to the Joker. They have a dysfunctional relationship, but she loves him anyway. She used to be a gymnast — that’s her skill set when fighting.”
The gymnast bit is new, and while she doesn't mention the therapist background, sequences in the trailers have already confirmed that we'll see where it all began for both Harley and for her obsession with Jared Leto's Joker.
