Mark Ruffalo Spills the Beans on Cate Blanchett's Thor: Ragnarok Role
Last month, Cate Blanchett was confirmed to be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok, though no details were given at the time. Over the weekend at the BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party, Mark Ruffalo has revealed more than he perhaps should have.
"I saw her at the Governors' banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, 'Please, please, please make this work!" he told ET, before following that with "She's just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting."
The diverse actress would definitely bring plenty to the role, though we can only suspect what role that might specifically be. Kevin Feige has gone on to say that the film will take a different path to the preceding Thor features.
"I don't thin people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie's going to be. It's going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior 'Thor' movies as 'Winter Soldier' was from the first 'Captain America'."
He also stated that there would be very little Earth in a heavily cosmos-set tale. Thor: Ragnarok arrives November 3, 2017.
