Martin Scorsese's 'Silence' to Open on December 23
Paramount has slotted Martin Scorsese's next film, Silence, in for an award-season release. The film's release was one big question mark, but now we've learned the film will see a limited release on December 23. It will go wide in January.
That date will see A Monster Calls release, as well as Pedro Almodovar's Julieta and Peter Berg's Patriots Day. So while Rogue One will be all the rage, arthouse films will also provide some competition.
Silence stars Andrew Garfield, Liam Neeson, Adam Driver, and Ciaran Hinds, and is one of Scorsese's dream projects. The adaptation of the Shusaku Endo novel has been on his agenda since 1991.
