Marvel Creative Committee Disbanded, Welcoming in New Era
According to Birth.Movies.Death., the Creative Committee for the movie department at Marvel is being disbanded. The group includes notable names such as comic book writer Brian Michael NBendis, comics publisher Dan Buckley, former toy executive Alan Fine, and Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada.
This all formally started with the announcement that Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege would no longer report to Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter. Fiege will instead directly communicate to Disney Chairman Alan Horn.
Due to this, the future of Marvel's major creative decisions will be left in the hands of Feige, and his fellow producers Louis D'Esposito and Victoria Alonso.
Considering the committee's members are all busy people, with projects outside of their role in the film department, this could see a rise in efficiency and a narrowed focus.
With a variety of films already well into production, it will be some time before we see whether there is a noticeable change on the screen to match what's going on behind the scenes.
