Marvel's 'The Inhumans' Adds Roel Reiné to Direct IMAX Episodes
Marvel and ABC are set to debut their new series based on Marvel's The Inhumans later this year, and will debut the first two episodes on theatrical IMAX screens in what is shaping up to be an exciting project, and the next step in blurring the lines between film and TV.
Now, we know that Roel Reiné will direct the debut episodes. Reiné was a television director prior to winning the Dutch equivalent of the Academy Award for Best Picture, for his first film The Delivery in 1999. H's directed a lot of sequels since, from Death Race 2 to Hard Target 2. He recently helmed an episode of Black Sails.
With the Inhumans debut being marketed as a huge theatrical event set to play on over 1,000 screens on Labor Day weekend, fans might be a little put out by the less-headline name that's been put at the forefront. Still, Reiné has a balance of experience across film and TV, and that's probably what the studios were after.
