'Mary Poppins Returns' First Trailer
Emily Blunt will make our holiday merry and bright
The exclusive trailer features Emily Blunt as Disney’s titular nanny who has returned after a family tragedy strikes the now adult age Banks children, Jane (Emily Mortimer) and Michael (Ben Winshaw).
Disney’s sequel is set in 1930’s London, some 25 years after the original story and 54 years since the release of P.L. Travers big screen adaptation. Tony Award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda plays a lamplighter named Jack. Disney darling Dick Van Dyke returns at the age of 92, this time reprising the role of Mr. Dawes Jr. Mary Poppins Returns also features a pair of Oscar-winners with Meryl Streep starring as Mary’s cousin, Topsy and Colin Firth as William Weatherall Wilkins, a president of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank.
Rob Marshall will direct from a script written by Finding Neverland’s David Magee. The songs are written by Oscar and Tony Award-winning duo Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman.
