Michael Giacchino Wins Top Prize at World Soundtrack Awards
Music adds an irreplaceable depth and emotion to visual storytelling mediums, and this year at the World Soundtrack Awards Michael Giacchino has been recognised as the very best, a decade after winning the 'Discovery of the Year' award.
Giacchino was crowned 'Composer of the Year' with recognition to his scores for 'Inside Out', 'Jurassic World', and 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes'.
Giacchino had to win over the top of Alexander Desplat, who entered into his ninth running for the award and was hoping for a sixth victory.
Antonio Sanchez won both score and Discovery of the Year for his drum score in 'Birdman'
