Miles Teller Boxing Drama 'Bleed for This' set for a November Release
Because we need more boxing films, Open Road Films has set a November 4 limited release date for Bleed for This, the biopic following the boxer Vinny Pazienza played by Miles Teller.
Writer-director Ben Younger's film will open for wide release 3 weeks later on November 23. Open Road had the same rollout for last year's Spotlight, which as we all know went on to win Best Picture Oscar. It seems it wants to target an award-season shake-up with the new film.
Bleed for This is the story of a boxer who wins two world title fights before a near-fatal car accident severed his spine and by all intents and purposes should have ended his career.
Aaron Eckhart plays trainer Kevin Rooney, who helped Pazienza to walk again and eventually make it back into the ring to reclaim his title, just a year after the accident.
