'Minecraft' Film Adds Pan Writer for New Draft
Rob McElhenney is set to direct the live-action adventure film based on the Minecraft world, and while the first draft was written by Passengers penman Jon Spaihts, Pan writer Jason Fuchs has been brought on to write a new draft.
Fuch has also written drafts for Wonder Woman and Lobo, so he's somewhat of a regular around Warner Bros. projects. He'll develop the latest script with McElhenney before going off to write it.
"Minecraft would be part of a multiverse where humans can enter that has the feel of what the live action version of a Minecraft experience," said producer Roy Lee.
Recently, Telltale Games wrapped up its own Story Mode Minecraft series, consisting of eight episodes and arguably telling the kind of story the Minecraft universe could believably host. It'll be interesting to see where Warner Bros. takes this one.
