More 'X-Files' Could be on the Way from Fox
Fox is currently in negotiations with series creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson for a new batch of episodes for The X-Files, following the success of the limited run earlier this year.
Fox is "in significant talks with the three principals," Fox Entertainment President David Madden said. The series spent nearly 14 years off the air before its return, which saw high ratings class with mixed reviews.
While some critics pointed out the awkward task of re-introducing itself, Fox CEO Dana Walden has said that the series will not have the same problem in the future. "The show was off the air for a very long time," says Walden. "They had the challenge of filling in the mythology.
"Going forward there won't be the same obligation to reset the series."
