'Narcos' Boss Sees No End in Sight for Netflix Drama Series
With season 2 of Narcos hitting Netflix on Friday, Wagner Moura, who reached critical acclaim for his portrayal of Pablo Escobar, calls season 2 "very character-driven," intended as "more dramatic and less active."
Season 1 spanned 15 years. Season 2 will span just 18 months by comparison, allowing them to "slow down and live with the characters a little bit more than we could have last season," showrunner Eric Newman said.
“All of the moral conflicts of the characters are much stronger in the second season. The epic part of it is less important," said Moura. Jose Padilha, also a showrunner, said "we'll stop when the drug trade stops," indicating that there is story to go on after the end of Escobar.
"We'll stop when you stop. That's our pact with America," added Newman.
