NBC Adapting 'The Italian Job' for Small-Screen Series
If you're fed up with all the film-to-TV adaptations that have blown up in the past year or so, turn away now. 2003's The Italian Job, itself based on the 1969 heist classic, is set for a TV series at NBC.
Michael Caine stars in the original film as an expert thief who brings together a team to heist four million dollars in gold. The remake features Mark Wahlberg in that role, but the setting switches from Italy to Los Angeles.
The TV series will take liberties with the plot, and will center on a team coming together not for gold but to rescue an older team member who they owe a debt to.
