NBC's 'Powerless' Gets a Batman-Inspired Setting
Powerless is the upcoming half hour comedy series set in the DC universe that will never come up in conversations regarding The CW's line of superhero dramas. Mostly because this new series isn't about superheroes.
But now we know another major connection that the people that work for the insurance company, handling superhero property damage, have to the DC universe.
"In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer..."
Bruce Wayne/Batman will not be in the show, just so we're clear. It was confirmed earlier in the year that the character won't jump to the DC TV world. But this, along with the first insurance job being a result of a Wonder Woman case, goes to show that the series will be making any and all references it can come up with to pull viewers in. And why not.
