Netflix's 'The Punisher' Series Begins Shooting with Jon Bernthal
The second season of Daredevil introduced The Punisher, and thanks largely to Jon Bernthal's performance, he quickly became a fan-favourite in the dysfunctional Marvel/Netflix family.
Now, we've learned that the spin-off series on the anti-hero has begun filming, despite it never being in the game-plan for the long-developing Defenders story-line.
New set photos revealed the news that filming had begun, though not much more is known other than Bernthal sporting an impressively bushy beard. The release time-slot for the series is less clear, and remains to be seen whether Netflix targets a 2017 release (making it a third debut for their Marvel line in that year) or whether they'll push it to 2018.
