New Concept Art and Details for Disney-Pixar's 'Cars 3'
The original Cars came out in 2006. Followed by an unappreciated sequel in 2011. Now Pixar looks to move forward on one of its most popular franchises.
Lightning McQueen and his lovable tow truck friend Mater will be returning to the big screen in 2017. After a long wait, Pixar has revealed some details and concept art about the upcoming film. Take a look at the concept art below.
In the concept art above, Lightning McQueen is the pink-looking car. The sleek looking yellow car is Cruz Ramirez. USA Today revealed she is a young hispanic female car with the task of training an aging Lightning McQueen.
The film definitely sounds like Rocky Balboa but could this training be similar to the one in the first Cars movie?
More details were revealed by Director Brian Fee. Talking about where Lightning McQueen fits into the story:
Cruz Ramirez is trying to figure out how this old dog can learn some new tricks. Think of where he’d be in his career now in real time. (McQueen) is not an old man, but he’s one of the older cars on the circuit with new rookies coming in. People start to wonder and ask when he might retire.
One of the new rookies who is not featured in the concept art is named Jackson Storm, who is a young hotshot racer, who McQueen will be facing on the racetrack.
Jackson Storm is the face of these rookies who have come onto the scene. And McQueen is in a position where his entire racing generation is being pushed out. But it’s too early to be shown the door right now.
The film sounds phenomenal and hopefully there will be a trailer during Finding Dory to hype up Pixar's next project!
