'Now You See Me 2' Breaks Records in China Opening
Now You See Me 2 is the record-holding Lionsgate release in China, with a $14,8 million opening day.
That take is 679 percent higher than the first film's opening, which goes to show just how substantially the market in China has grown in just a few shor tyears.
The film has taken $45 million in the U.S. to date, and $50 million offshore. Jon M. Chu directed the film, which was written by Ed Solomon. The cast is made up of Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, and Dave Franco, and filled out by Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan, Jay Chou, Sanaa Lathan, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman.
