Oscar-Nominated John Logan To Pen Leonardo DiCaprio's 'Leonardo da Vinci' Biopic
DiCaprio is set to portray 15th century's misfit, vegetarian, left-handed, easily distracted, and at times heretical artist in Paramount's 'da Vinci'
Deadline confirmed writer John Logan will adapt Paramount’s 'Leonardo da Vinci' biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s biography “Leonardo da Vinci” starring the Oscar-winning actor whose very name is based on the famed artist - Leonardo DiCaprio.
Logan’s recent screenwriting credits include both Bond films Spectre and Skyfall, along with credits from a trio of Academy Award nominated films from Scorsese’s Hugo and The Aviator, to Ridley Scott’s Gladiator.
‘Da Vinci’ marks the second collaboration between the high-profile writer and DiCaprio in a story that delves inside the life of 15th century’s most celebrated artist whose name is synonymous with Vitruvian Man, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. Logan will tap into Walter Isaacson’s recently published biography which weaves a narrative connecting da Vinci’s art to his curiosity and passion of science.
In the meantime, we will get our DiCaprio's fix in Quentin Tarantino's untitled ninth set in the 'summer of 69' with the Manson family as a backdrop!
