'Ozark' Season 2 Teaser Trailer and Release Date Announced
Your Labor Day weekend plans just got a little more complicated.
Netflix’s original crime drama OZARK returns with ten new episodes dropping August 31!
Ozark season 2 looks to follow up on a thrilling first season that follows the misdeeds of Marty and Wendy Byrde (Jason Bateman and Laura Linney), who are forced to relocate their family from the plush Chicago 'burbs to the Missouri Ozarks after Marty’s now-deceased financial partner left him no choice but to launder $8 million dollars 'clean' for a Mexican drug cartel.
“We’ve done a lot of things, things that we said we would never do.” Says Wendy.
The fallout of those ‘things’ happened to result in the death of cartel leader Camino Del Rio aka "Del" (Esai Morales), along with a newly brokered deal between Marty and local heroin traffickers Jacob and Darlene Snell (Peter Mullan and Lisa Emery). But if the thought of cleaning $8 million between a local lake resort and strip club “Lickety Splits™️” felt like a daunting task, think again!
The stakes for season 2 appear even higher, with double the amount the money to launder, a dead cartel boss, and a relationship dynamic between Marty and Ozark local Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner), whose hate-mongering father Cade Langmore has been recently released from prison.
As Marty tells Wendy (in typical Jason Bateman fashion), “People make choices. Choices have consequences.” Those consequences will also welcome the arrival of a ruthless attorney who represents the Mexican drug cartel (Janet McTeer). Yes, I’m sure they are wondering what in the hell happened to their stateside leader, Del. Let’s just say when the Snells invite you over to their house, politely decline.
