'Pacific Rim 2' Adds Jing Tian to Cast. Filming to Start In November
The long-awaited Pacific Rim sequel adds a new name to its cast: Chinese actress Jing Tian (New Police Story, The Great Wall) has joined Guillermo del Toro's Kaiju vs. Mecha movie. The project finally has a filming schedule too. According to Collider, filming will start in November and it will take place in Australia and China.
Jing Tian, who will also appear in the upcoming 'Kong: Skull Island,' is joining the cast which includes John Boyega, Scott Eastwood and Cailee Spaeny. With the exception of Charlie Hunnam, who will not return to the sequel, there is still no confirmation if any of the original cast (including Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman and Ron Perlman) will return.
Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) is set to direct and Pacific Rim 2 is scheduled to be released in February 2018.
