'Pacific Rim 2' Sets Course for 2018 Release
Legendary and Universal have announced a sequel to Guillermo del Toro's hit Pacific Rim, with an arrival of February 23, 2018.
Steve S. Deknight takes the reins on the franchise, and the sequel has been gestating for some time since the first film made its big entrance in 2013.
Earlier this month we learned that John Boyega of Star Wars: The Force Awakens would star in the new film, launching the project back into the public eye. He'll be playing Idris Elba's character's son in the new film.
While little else is known at the moment, expect more now that we have a firm release date, and the film starts its march toward production and, eventually, release.
