Paul Bettany Talks Captain America: Civil War, Vision
During a talk with Collider, Bettany discussed loyalties within the team. Civil War will feature many of the Avengers team-members, meaning there'll be plenty of interesting developments during what is ultimately Avengers 2.5.
Bettany, who also plays The Vision, discussed the ability for his character to go to "so many places", allowing for plenty of interpretation. "I think he's very interested in what it means to be human and what love is. The only way one can guarantee one's loyalty is love."
"Loyalty is beyond logic, really... if your logic changes suddenly and things not make sense, you can alter your allegiance, but love stops you from being able to do that."
From this, it seems that Vision will indeed side with Tony Stark (Iron Man) early in Civil War, though it looks as though rumours are true and that the character may change sides against all better judgment.
Hinting at the larger theme of the film, Bettany said it's going to be a lot of fun, exploring "people unilaterally going into other people's countries and their intervention there."
