Pierce Brosnan Replaces Sam Neill in AMC Drama 'The Son'

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Pierce Brosnan has been tapped to replace Sam Neill in AMC's upcoming drama The Son, and Brosnan's younger on-screen self joins the series in actor Jacob Lofland.

Based on Philipp Meyer's novel, The Son, written by Meyer, Lee Shipman, and Brian McGreevy, is a multi-generational epic of the story of America's birth as a superpower through the bloody rise and fall of a Texas family.

Lofland plays Eli McCullough, the charming, self-reliant, intensely curious and fast learning boy with an impulsive recklessness stemming from a fire and lust for life. He is raised in captivity among the Comanche and can only survive by understanding his captors.

Brosnan plays an older Eli, who applies his Comanche worldview to business. Lofland will be seen on the big screen in Free State of Jones, which stars Matthew McConaughey.
