Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Adds Paul McCartney
A surprising new casting has emerged for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, with Paul McCartney reportedly playing a role as part of a big set-piece scene.
McCartney joins Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Javier Bardem as villain Captain Salazar in what is shaping as a pretty stellar cast.
Deadline reports that the big scene is not a re-shoot but an additional scene added after production had been wrapped. McCartney's role is for the time being a secret.
McCartney has mostly musical contributions in his film credits. He previously won an Academy Award as a member of The Beatles for Best Original Score with Let it Be. Dead Men Tell No Tales arrives May 26, 2017.
