Producer Describes X-Men: Apocalypse as the Biggest X-Men Film So Far
Thanks to the huge success of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Bryan Singer's next foray into the X-Men universe is hotly anticipated (not least of all thanks to the trailer released late last year).
Producer Simon Kinberg, who also wrote the screenplay for Apocalypse, described the upcoming film as "the biggest X-Men film we've done, both in terms of the external stakes - we've never done on of these before where there's an extinction-level event for the whole world - and I think it's the biggest emotionally, too.
"Because the situation is so heightened, the dynamic between the main characters is as heightened and intense as its ever been."
While it is certainly clear from the trailer that this is going to be an earth-shattering event, it's not really something we haven't seen before in other superhero flicks. Though perhaps, for X-Men fans, the build-up of every other film will be enough to really propel this new threat as something frighteningly disastrous.
X-Men: Apocalypse explodes into theaters May 27 this year.
