Producer Drops New Details on the Alicia Vikander-Starring 'Tomb Raider' Reboot
2018's Tomb Raider reboot has director Roar Uthaug directing from Geneva Robertson-Dworet's debut script, but the film's big drawcard is Alicia Vikander as the protagonist Lara Croft.
Producer Graham King gave some new details on Tomb Raider in a chat with Hey U Guys, confirming that the film is an origin story, or what he'd call a "back to the roots story."
"This is a young Lara Croft in search to see if her father is dead or alive, so it has a very emotional part to it and i think that’s what Alicia found so interesting about it. I think the storytelling is really good and i think we’ve got the right crew and a great director and I think it’s going to be really fun making a film like this."
Vikander lights up the screen, and is a promising lead for the franchise. The film is slated for March 16, 2018.
