Rachel Keller Cast in FX's Upcoming X-Men Spin-Off Series
Coming from Deadline, the Fargo star is the first to be cast in FX's television series spinning out from the X-Men universe. "
Legion tells the story of David Haller, a diagnosed schizophrenic who, after a strange encounter with a fellow patient at a psychiatric hospital, begins considering that the voices and visions he experiences may be real.
Comic book fans know the character as the schizophrenic son of Charles Xavier. As for Rachel Keller's character, details have not been made available. However, she is being described as "a scrappy, optimistic woman", and her powers may have something to do with physical touch.
Executive producer for the series, Noah Hawley (Fargo), has previously said that the series is meant as "more as a standalone... it's just more that there's a story that I want to explore that has to fit into that larger universe, which is exciting."
Hawley will write the pilot on top of his exec producing role, alongside Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg (all executive producers on X-Men: Days of Future Past), and Jeph Loeb.
