Rami Malek Wins Well-Earned Debut Emmy for Starring Role in 'Mr. Robot'
Rami Malek has won his first Emmy for his stellar work on USA Network's breakout drama Mr. Robot, awarded Outstanding Lead Actor for his efforts.
“I want to honor the Elliots,” he said during his acceptance speech. “Because there’s a little bit of Elliot in all of us.”
“I am honored to be recognized with such a distinguished and accomplished group of actors,” Malek added. “I’m honored to stand here and represent my family and every single person who has helped me get this far. I’m honored to work with a pure visionary in Sam Esmail — I wouldn’t be here without you — to go to work with an absurdly gifted cast, and crew, and writers.”
The award was won from nominees including Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul) Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Kyle Chandler (Bloodline) Liev Schreiber (Ray Donavan) and Kevin Spacey (House of Cards).
