Release Dates for 'Jumanji' and Other Sony Releases Shifted
Sony Pictures has tossed around some of its films and changed some release dates in the wake of The Dark Tower's surprising release delay.
Dwayne Johnson's Jumanji was set for July 28, 2017, but will not open now until December 22, 2017. The puts it a week after Star Wars: Episode VIII.
The Equalizer 2, meanwhile, has been delayed a full year from September 29, 2017 to September 14, 2018. There is no writer or director attached, though Denzel Washington is expected to reprise his role.
The Flatliners reboot has been pushed only slightly, from August 18 to September 29, 2017. That film stars Ellen Page and is being directed by Niels Arden Oplev.
Trainspotting 2 rounds out the changes, pushed from February 3, 2017 to March 3 for limited release of the same year. It will then open wide on March 10.
