Reports Claim Tony Gilroy Has Taken Over Post-Production on 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'
Previous reports have indicated that Tony Gilroy played a heavy hand in the reshoots that took place for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and now THR is reporting that Gilroy has been given the lead on post-production.
While Edwards reportedly remains involved, he is now supervising the final cut of the film, while it is stated that this is an entirely collaborative effort. There's no word from Edwards on how he feels about all this, but we're now in an age of blockbuster filmmaking where director's have just as little ownership over the project as script writers, it seems.
“There are not two separate editing rooms; they are all in there with their ideas,” says one source close to the production. “Tony’s a strong force, but they’re all working together.”
