Ridley Scott to be Honoured by American Society of Cinematographers
Ridley Scott will receive the ASC's board of governors award, the organisation announced in Wednesday, in recognition of Scott's efforts to advance the craft of filmmaking.
Nearly 40 years into his career, Scott is known for a host of famous films such as Alien and Blade Runner, and his 2015 film The Martian is front-running come award season.
"This is a well-deserved honour for one of our great visual stylists, and I'm so very pleased that the ASC has chosen to honour him this year," ASC President Richard Crudo said of the announcement.
Past recipients include Harrison Ford, Morgan Freeman, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, just to name a handful. The award will be presented to Scott at an event on February 14, at they Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
