'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Never Had an Opening Crawl Written into the Script
Back in July was when rumours began surfacing that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would not have an opening crawl, and it was met with shock by fans of the franchise. It makes sense though, and allows for these films to standout from the straight and narrow saga films.
"The script never had [an opening crawl]," Star Wars Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo revealed in response to a fan question on twitter Wednesday. "[It] always had the prologue. It was always a back-pocket possibility if the movie needed it. It never did."
So while the confirmation only came last month, it was never a planned part of the pic.
