'Rogue One' Climbs up to $790 Million Worldwide
Another day, another monumental climb in numbers for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which has now overtaken Captain America: Civil War to become the second-highest earner of 2016. The film earned $110.1 million globally over the new year's weekend. It thrusts the film up to $790 million in total.
Its domestic tally puts it just behind FInding Dory for the year. Dory earned $486.3 million, while Rogue One currently sits on $439.7 million. Its worldwide tally has also pushed it ahead of Deadpool, pushing into the seventh spot on the global list of top box office performers of 2016.
The film is still yet to open in China, and will do so on January 6.
