Rumoured Role for Iris West in The Flash Season 2 a 'Gross Exaggeration'
Co-executive producer Andrew Kreisberg described recurring character Iris West as a 'born leader', though fans shouldn't take this to mean a heightened leadership role for the character in season 2 of CW's hit show.
While some have taken Kreisberg's words to mean that Iris would be taking over a leadership role at S.T.A.R. Labs in light of season 1's finale, Candice Patton has said she believes it's a "gross exaggeration".
"What I will say is that she does encourage Barry Allen to come back to S.T.A.R. Labs and get the team together and keep fighting to protect Central City", Patton said.
Addressing the topic at hand though, Patton said that "no, that doesn't happen." With added logic, she explained that Iris has a job as a prominent reporter, a far cry from the position some have touted her as taking up.
"This season we will see her step into that role which I am very excited about because I think she has a lot to offer Team Flash in that way."
Season 2 of The Flash premieres October 6.
