Ryan Coogler Breaks Down 'Black Panther's' Kinetic Casino Scene (Video)
Step inside the mind of Ryan Coogler's creative process and you'll find yourself not wanting to leave. He is a gem.
In Vanity Fair's latest ‘Notes on a Scene,’ Director Ryan Coogler gives fans a spectacular micro-look at Black Panther’s covert casino mission featuring Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) in their attempts to capture Wakanda's number one enemy, Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis).
The 31-year-old director (31!!) breaks down the kinetic mission in the 9 min and 30 sec video detailing the talented filmmaker's multifaceted creative think-tank illustrated through use of color, shot exposition, stunt and fight choreography.
According to Coogler, the Bond-esque casino sequence was bookmarked early in the shooting schedule to "get it right" and "set the tone for the rest of the film." Mission accomplished? I'd say so.
