Ryan Reynolds Discusses Frustrating Experience on 'Green Lantern'
While Reynolds is looking to bring to life, successfully, a passion project in February for audiences all around the world, his first foray into less grim territory was unsuccessful, to say the least.
Speaking in Empire's latest issue, Reynolds said "it was a slightly terrifying place to be. You really need a visionary behind a movie like that, but it was the classic studio story: 'we have a poster, but we don't have a script! Let's start shooting!'"
He doesn't regret the "frustrating" experience on Green Lantern, mostly credited due to the fact he met his now current wife Blake Lively while filming. He also states that the film afforded him a lot of opportunities.
The film made $220M worldwide on a $200M budget, and will go down in history as one of the worst superhero outings in our era. Deadpool opens February 12, while we'll be seeing more Green Lantern in 2020.
