Sam Neill Signs Up for Lead in AMC Original Series 'The Son'
Golden Globe and Emmy nominated actor Sam Neil, best known perhaps for his work in Jurassic Park, has been picked to lead AMC original series The Son.
Based on Philipp Meyer's critically acclaimed novel, the series tells the multi-generational epic of America's birth as a superpower through the bloody and brutal rise and fall of one Texas family.
Neill will play Eli, the charismatic patriarch of the McCullough family. Kidnapped as a child and raise among the Comanche Native American tribe, he uses the teachings from his wild upbringing to shape his business dealings.
Born on the day Texas became an independent Republic, Eli earned the name 'First Son of Texas'. The remaining cast includes Henry Garrett, who plays the eldest son of Eli, Zahn McClarnon (Fargo), Paola Nunez, and Sydney Lucas.
"This is an incredibly talented cast, led by the remarkable Sam Neill, and we can't wait to see them embody these characters and give life to this unforgettable story," AMC and SundaceTV president of original programming and development Joel Stillerman said.
