Sarah Paulson Wins Oustanding Lead Actress for 'The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story'
It's been a long time coming for Sarah Paulson, whose frequent collaboration with Ryan Murphy on American Horror Story and now The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story has finally paid off.
The actress earned the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. Paulson was also nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress for American Horror Story: Hotel, though that prize went to Regina King for ABC's widely beloved American Crime.
Paulson brought the woman whom she portrayed in the series to the event, Marcia Clark, and her speech brought the attention of the audience to the unfair treatment that Clark experienced during the infamous trial.
“I am glad to be able to stand here in front of everyone today and tell you I’m sorry.”
