Scholastic Entertainment Reviving Live-Action 'Goosebumps' Series
After a twenty-two year hiatus, the horror anthology series based on R. L. Stine's best-selling Goosebumps is returning to television!
Producer Neal Moritz - yep, the same Fast and Furious Neal H. Mortiz - is teaming with Scholastic Entertainment to develop an all-new series for Sony Pictures Television.
The pairing seems on point since Scholastic Entertainment - the media division under the publisher who delivered over 350 million printed copies of R.L. Stine’s novella series - originally produced the late 90's Canadian/American anthology series. And Mortiz served as a producer on 2015 and 2018's Goosebumps films.
Out of the sixty-two books published under the Goosebumps umbrella title, forty-three ended up being adapted throughout a four-season run totaling 74 episodes. Needless to say, there are plenty of stories to revive.
We'll continue to monitor development as Moritz and Scholastic firm up the creative team along with securing a distribution deal.
