Script for Predator Sequel Completed
It has been a while since we heard about the plan for a new Predator movie, but Shane Black and his co-writer Fred Dekker have just announced on Facebook (via AVPGalaxy.net) that they have completed and turned in the script for a Predator sequel.
No details yet about the film's plot, producer John Davis told Collider, “The writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say, ‘This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise.’”
The first Predator movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger and helmed by John McTiernan was a box office hit in 1987. It was followed by Predator 2 (1990) which was less successful. Two crossover sequels were released. Alien vs. Predator in 2004 and the 2007 Alien vs Predator: Requiem. And finally in 2010 Predators hit theaters with Adrien Brody and Lawrence Fishburne.
Shane Black, who directed and was a co-writer of Iron Man 3, was cast as Hawkins in the original Predator film in 1987. He will direct this new addition to the franchise.
Currently, Black has just completed filming a 70's noir film 'The Nice Guys' with Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe.
No filming or release date has been set.
