Shawn Levy to Direct in Season 2 of 'Stranger Things,' Teases Season 3
Executive producer Shawn Levy, who directed a couple of episodes of season 1, will be back at the helm for the next season of Stranger Things. He'll helm two more episodes despite his recent hiring on the Uncharted film adaptation.
Confirming the news with Collider, he said that, prior to the delayed renewal from Netflix, “we were given the wink-wink, ‘You guys should seriously start thinking about what you wanna have happen in season two’ before it was announced.”
Just like season 1, the Duffer brothers will direct the opening two episodes before handing the reigns over to Levy. Presumably, they'll take it back after episode 4, just like last time.
Levy also hinted at some season 3 dreams. “We are not gonna be caught off guard and we don’t wanna be making stuff up like the day before we have to write it and make it, so we are definitely optimistic and we have started thinking ahead,” he said.
Season 2 will arrive in 2017.
