'Sherlock Holmes 3' finds its Writer
Screenwriter James Coyne has been chosen to pen a rewrite for the third Sherlock Holmes film in Warner Bros. frachise, which sees Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law play the headline characters and Guy Ritchie directing.
Way back in October 2011 Drew Pearce had been tapped to write the next script, which was just before the second film landed. That film outgrossed its predecessor with a worldwide haul of $545.4 million.
Coyne pened last year's Black List script Treasure Island for Lionel Wigram and Warners,so this marks something of a re-team. And it confirms that Sherlock Holmes is definitely on Warner Bros.' to-do list, following Downey Jr.'s statement last week.
